Allan Maxwell, BSc (Hons)
Director and Chartered Financial Planner
Allan gained his BSc in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics at Heriot Watt University. He has also undertaken extensive additional study and was elected as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute in 2005. In 2007 he was awarded individual Chartered Financial Planner status.
Allan has in excess of 30 years experience of corporate pensions. He was initially involved in the defined benefits area and is now able to deploy these skills to defined contribution pensions. He is fully qualified and authorised to offer advice on pension transfers.
Allan's aim is initially to help clients to clearly identify their short and long term objectives as well as the degree of risk each individual is willing to accept. He will then recommend a strategy which gives them the best chance of achieving these goals within the agreed risk level. He is aware that an individual's circumstances and tolerance of risk can change over time. It is therefore essential to review progress to ensure that the initial strategy is refined to take account of any unforeseen events.
Allan’s main outside interest is in sport in particular football. Having seen Ross County gain promotion to the SPL he wonders what next? Scotland qualifying for the latter stages of a World Cup? Participation these days is limited to cycling and the odd game of curling.
